Travel Card
Location: London, England
As I walked through London underground one early Saturday afternoon, I saw a huge queue for the ticket machine. I wouldn’t usually think twice and would keep walking. But this time I stopped in my tracks as I realised that I no longer needed my day travel card, as I was heading back to Manchester.
So, instead of throwing it away, (like I would usually) I thought I’d just give it to someone.
There was a young girl with florescent pink hair who caught my eye. I walked up to her and asked if she needed a day card, she replied ‘yes’ so I said she could have mine. She then opened her purse and asked how much money I wanted for it. I said that I didn’t want any money for it.
The shock on her face that someone would merely just ‘give it away’ for nothing was brilliant!! She asked me why and I said, it’s cos I love my generation and gave her an ilovemygen card too.
As I walked off, she proceeded to jump and squeal with excitement, shouting after me ‘thank you, thank you, have a great day, you’ve made mine’
I smiled, as her smile made my day
ilovemygen
